Earnest Hand,
born November 9, 1948, has been adding significant
contributions to the world of art for over three
decades. Born and raised in small Florida rural town
called Wewahitchka, Earnest began his art phenomenon
with pencils, oil paints, and clay, to presently what is
known as “Visions in Wood”.
Many
of the subjects; turtles, fish, cranes, alligators,
people, seem to be one with the wood; agreeing with
their habitat and surroundings. The artist has an
awe-inspiring gift to produce and translate his visions
to exceptional wood elements in
a
most exquisite manner.
Earnest Hand’s recognitions and awards range from Kids’
Choice, The Judges’ Award, 1st Place, to his
proudest to date, Best of Show in the Greater Gulf Coast
Arts festival in Pensacola, FL.
This
artist continues to use his ability to further
education, provide charity, and stability to
geographical realms and society in its entirety. There
are various places that feature his “Visions in Wood”.
Locally, you can capture a glimpse of his involvement
from the innovative Wewahitchka Public Library, the
Wewahitchka High School, to The Wood Sculpture Gallery
of Wewahitchka, Fl. |
